On the 27th of June, the Women of the World Foundation organised WOW Global 24 which is an online festival focusing on women and girls, in response to the inequalities highlighted by Covid-19. The panellists included Jude Kelly, Founder and Director of The WOW Foundation (UK); India Gary-Martin, Entrepreneur and Co-chair, WOW (USA); Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, Gender Specialist; Esra A. Aysun, Curator, WOW Istanbul; Lola Shoneyin, Poet, Author and Founder of Ake Festival, Cathy Hunt, Executive Director, Of One Mind & Executive Producer, WOW Australia as well as founder and executive director of Rising Flame, Nidhi Goyal. 

Nidhi spoke to India Gary-Martin and Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, about her activism and how it has changed after the pandemic, along with her views on intersectionality and her efforts in Rising Flame. She highlighted the importance of creating a more inclusive ‘new normal’ after the pandemic and how that could be done by intentionally engaging marginalised groups and communities in movements and amplifying their voices.
