On the 31st of July 2019, Rising Flame was invited by Population First to conduct a training for Sony Entertainment Television in Mumbai. There were 30 participants  working across programming, production and other functions  . Our founder and executive director conducted this training alongside Dr. Asmita Huddar, principal of HACSE College. The purpose of the training was to build a disability perspective amongst the team for Sony’s production Isharon Isharon Mein which centers around a deaf character. The training  included busting popular societal myths on disability, and spoke extensively with the channel and teams  about sensitive and informed media representation and the impact it has on mass thinking and culture. The intimate space encouraged  interactions and self reflection on persons with disabilities and assumptions surrounding them.
