Training at National Association for the Blind (NAB)

April 2018

On April 24, 2018, Rising Flame conducted a training at the National Association for the Blind in Mumbai. We trained an intimate group of 15 girls between the ages 8 to 15 years from the integrated schooling program. Most girls were blind or low vision, while one participant had multiple disabilities.

The training focused on teaching participants on the concepts of confidence, having a voice, creating an enabling environment for others, and understanding the ‘self’.

These personal development objectives were complemented by sessions on choice, consent, safety, and abuse. This training was a pilot for the school-level leadership program that Rising Flame plans to launch for youth with disabilities.
