The training focused on recognizing and understanding one’s own biases towards disability and persons with disability. It sought to differentiate between the medical, social and charity models of disability and urged the participants to look at disability as a social issue rather than a medical, individual issue.

The training looked at addressing issues of domestic violence and sexual violence faced by women with disabilities, the changes within the laws and how a social worker can provide adequate support.
