The 14th World Congress of Bioethics of the International Association of Bioethics, was jointly organized with the 7th National Bioethics Conference of the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics (IJME). It was a group of four co-hosts organising the Congress:
- The Forum for Medical Ethics Forum (FMES), Mumbai
- SAMA working on women's health issues, Delhi
- John's National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore and
- SOCHARA (Society for Community Health Awareness, Research and Action) Bangalore
Rising flame was invited to speak at the plenary titled “Interrogating the Construction of Marginalisations and Vulnerabilities: Obligations of Bioethics" on inclusive and universal health care- what would this mean for persons with disabilities particularly women with disabilities and their sexual and reproductive health access.

Our founder and director Nidhi Goyal spoke alongside Carolyn Stephens of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK; Ameer Khan, SOCHARA, Chennai; Obalesh K B, Tamate, Tumkur, India and Salam Ismael Obaidi, National Health Services, Cardiff, UK.
