
On the 25th of May 2019, Rising Flame and The Blind Graduates Forum of India together conducted Rising Flame’s workshop series: "Naa Main Naa Hain: Understanding Consent, Love and Violence in Intimate Relationships". Thirty young people with disabilities participated in the workshop where Founder, and Director of Rising Flame, Nidhi Goyal facilitated the workshop. Through it she addresses the myths and misconceptions about gender and disability through examples from Bollywood.
On the 26th of May,2019, Rising Flame partnered with Yes We Can Trust for another Naa Mein Naa Hain Workshop in Delhi. The participants in this workshop were women living with celebral palsy, polio, paraplegia and other forms of locomotor disabilities. Founder, and Director of Rising Flame, Nidhi Goyal, talked to the participants about gender roles and violence that women with disabilities face. She addressed how consent plays a role in navigating relationships at home and in the outside world.
