On 31st January 2023, India Leaders for Social Sector celebrated 5 years of ILSS in Gurgaon, Haryana with a 600 strong Alumni Community, consisting of non-profit founders, corporate leaders, board members, researchers, fundraisers, emerging women leaders, and more.
Our Founder and Executive Director Nidhi Goyal was present as an alumni and leader at the ‘ILSS Alumni Speak 2023’ along with with Proteek Kundu, Nita Luthria Row, Priyank Hirani, Ravi Trivedi, Barsha Banerjee, Manoj Gursahani, and Shantanu Ghosh. Eminent leaders from the social sector in attendance included Atul Satija, Reshma Anand, Ashish Dhawan and Ingrid Srinath.
The community and invited leaders exemplified a commitment to learning and collaboration, and invested in a vision of creating wide-reaching, long term change.
Over two days, this community actively engaged in knowledge and community building towards greater social impact. It was an enriching space to reflect on the pressing needs of the sector and identify opportunities to collaborate. Exciting visions for the future were created, which the community committed to building.
“Disability shapes how people look at you, as they constantly place you under the microscope. We reduce people to certain identities they have. To their gender, disability, and caste,” said Nidhi at the event.
The diverse experiences of ILSS’s alumni community were highlighted — from understanding the path-breaking work their organisations are involved in and transforming the landscape of the sector to learning about their personal journeys that got them there.
