Creating Resources for Empowerment in Action (CREA) organised a Hindi-language Feminist Leadership Program training session called ‘Feminist movements in India and Disability Rights Movement: Concerns and Issues’ on 20 September 2022 in New Delhi. Founder and Executive Director Nidhi Goyal was the facilitator for this session.
25+ grassroots women leaders attended this training and engaged in intersectional conversations on disability justice and gender justice. Discussions were had on societal shaping of our perceptions, behaviours and the disability movement, as well as a deep-dive into the movement itself and its points of connection and disconnection with the feminist movement.
Allyship and its importance was put forward on the way to forging a path that prioritised building an inclusive world and an inclusive feminist movement. After the session, participants began developing an action plan for more engagement on disability — especially with women with disabilities — in their field.
