On June 17, 2026, our Founder and Executive Director, Nidhi Goyal, facilitated an in-person training titled “Powering Through Allyship: Violence Against Women with Disabilities and Inclusive Feminist Movements” at the FON Asia Partners Meet organised by CREA at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The session brought together 40 feminist activists and FON partners from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Focusing on the experiences of women with disabilities, the session examined the multiple forms of violence faced by them, including disability-specific forms of abuse and barriers to accessing support, justice, and recovery. Through case studies, accessibility redesign exercises, and group discussions, participants reflected on the gaps that often exclude disabled women from feminist responses and services. Taking this thread broader, the training entered the space of allyship as a practice, encouraging participants to move beyond symbolic inclusion towards solidarity, shared leadership, and accountability. Nidhi highlighted the importance of embedding accessibility and disability justice into feminist organising, advocacy, and decision-making processes. Accessibility redesign exercises and allieship circles enabled participants to reflect deeper in their own work and bring a commitment to advancing inclusion in their feminist work.
