On August 30, 2024, our Founder and Executive Director, Nidhi Goyal, conducted a virtual training on gender and disability for the Certificate Course in Gender Studies at KC College, Mumbai. The session provided over 40 participants with an opportunity to examine disability through an intersectional lens and deepen their understanding of the connections between gender, identity, and systemic exclusion.
Drawing on lived experiences and broader social realities, Nidhi highlighted the unique challenges faced by disabled women and gender-marginalised persons, including discrimination, violence, and barriers to accessing healthcare and support systems. The training also addressed important themes such as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), sexual and gender-based violence (GBV), and the adverse impact of inadequate data and inaccessible services.
