Disability Inclusion — From participation to leadership by ILSS

On August 31, 2024, our Founder and Executive Director, Nidhi Goyal, conducted an online training session on “Disability Inclusion – From participation to leadership” as part of the Leadership Programme by Indian Leaders for the Social Sector (ILSS). The session was attended by 12 senior professionals to engage and contribute meaningfully to the social sector.

Through an engaging and interactive discussion, Nidhi offered a fresh perspective on disability and challenged conventional societal narratives around disability inclusion. She explored why conversations on disability matter to all of us. She also highlighted the importance of moving beyond participation and towards meaningful leadership and inclusion of persons with disabilities in the social sector. She encouraged participants to view disability through the lived experiences of people with disabilities. She emphasised the importance of reimagining systems that enable full participation and leadership. The session left participants with new perspectives and a stronger commitment to advancing disability inclusion in their own spheres of influence.
