India’s 2025 Voluntary National Review of SDGs

India’s 2025 Voluntary National Review of SDGs

We partnered with United Nations in India for the 2025 Voluntary National Review of Sustainable Development Goals with regards to disability inclusion in India. This was done under the leadership of Niti Aayog.

With a view to ensure that persons with disabilities are able to provide their inputs into the SDG process, from January to March 2025, we conducted a multi-stakeholder comprehensive Voluntary National Review (VNR) process . The process involved multi-channel data collection with the objective of collecting experiences and data on current situation, challenges faced and actionable recommendation for SDG implementation vis-a-vis disability inclusion. As part of primary data collection We gathered inputs through online  survey, organised an inter generational focus group discussion, organised a virtual consultation in Hindi, and then  concluded with an in person national consultation in Delhi organised in English, ISL and Hindi.  Our partners in co organising the consultations were also Rashtriya Viklang Manch and Academy of Management Studies.

We facilitated participation of 210 persons with disabilities, disability rights activists, organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) and other organisations working across domains.

Following this, as per UN and Niti Aayog guidelines, a 15 page report was drafted and submitted to the UN in India and Niti Aayog.
